Purpose
The Kansas Public Health Leadership Academy is a resource, discussion, and fellowship center for KPHLI graduates. The Leadership Academy provides opportunities for continued professional and leadership development through publication assistance, information-sharing, mentorship, and planned events. It also maintains and supports the leadership community that was fostered during the graduates’ time in the KPHLI program.
Members
KPHLI fellows are admitted to the Leadership Academy upon their completion of all KPHLI graduation requirements. Graduates, please click here to login to the members-only graduate site.
Events
The Leadership Academy offers fellows the opportunity to continue to develop as leaders in an individualized, meaningful manner following their graduation from the program. Activities are diverse and flexible, and fellows may participate according to their interests and the demands of their schedules.
Fellows may engage in sequential leadership and personal development by serving as a mentor for a current KPHLI participant. They are invited to attend all KPHLI-sponsored events. They are also kept apprised of upcoming KPHLI- and WALD-facilitated educational opportunities, which they are generally able to attend at no cost.
Publications
KPHLI capstones are the culmination of the year-long curriculum, and their applied nature and careful development represents a considerable investment of time and public health resources.
For these reasons, the KPHLI encourages the sharing of this valuable work with a larger audience. Faculty and staff provide editorial consultation and guidance to graduates as a major service of the Leadership Academy. All fellows are welcome to contact the KPHLI for guidance and assistance with the continued development of their capstone projects, including the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
