The Kansas Chautauqua Informatics Project, an on-site computer training program for health department workers, was created through a partnership between the WALD Center and the Heartland Centers for Public Health Preparedness. This project offers on-site individualized training in Microsoft Office applications to public health workers across the state.
Since the beginning of statewide Chautauqua training in 2004, the project has greatly expanded its scope. Basic-level and intermediate-level training is available in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as basic-level training in Microsoft PowerPoint. To date, the project’s traveling lab and informatics instructor have provided training to hundreds of workers in more than three-fifths of the state’s 105 counties.
